KA24E base timing!?

Alright guys how the hell do you set the ka24e base timing. What degree should the crank pulley be set at and how should the came gear be set at? And from there I set the distributor on #1 and it should be set?!

the crank pulley has a few marks but the first is -5 degrees the second is 0 degrees. by setting the #1 piston to tdc the crank will be set to the correct position(0 degrees ). now set the dist. for line up with the #1 terminal on the dist cap.

that will get you close enough to start the car. then use a timing light to set it exactly.
