Ka24E Engine knocking

hi all just got my 90 240 not to long ago bought with a knocking motor (75 bucks can't go wrong) but im try to figure out what may be cause it ...oh and it also losses power at about 4grand i was thinking maybe the timing chain skipped a tooth on the sproket ......any ideas

Check your cars ignition timing ,btw are using 91+octane gas on your car ,put some 91+ (93 would be better) octane gas with octane booster on your car and see if it still keep knocking,after that let us know if it keep doing it.

ok cool i'll ck the timing and put some high test in there...what about octaine boost

Get NOS octane booster,get either the Racing or Off Road formula ,,they do help!

I think it's your ignition. check spark plug, wire, distributer... ext

ya know what on of the spark plug wires that from the distributer to the coil does look broken but the car starts and runs at a decent idle

Ignition coil can be to blame too! (I'd replaced everything & still had it- one $40 part later & my E was purrin' )
