Ya, im wondering the same thing cuz i have a 1989 240 parts car with 120k on the tranny, but my main car-1991 240sx has 170,000 on the tranny... So wuts up guys???

Ive heard that yes they are interchangable. Someone correct me if Im wrong but Ive heard from several people and in fact someone on ebay is selling a tranny that came off a 89 so u know it was a sohc and the title of the auction is "240sx 5 speed transmission. ka24e / ka24de nissan". So i guess it would be or this person would be in the wrong if it wasent. He has 100% so he seems creditable. I emailed him asking him if they were and am waiting a response back.

Yes, all KA trannies (RWD) are interchangeable.


And, I hope you don't believe EVERYTHING you read on Ebay.....

LOL no doubt, but if they were to list it as working with both and it didnt they would have to refund my money. big waste of time but i know what ya mean there is some jack@ss's out there. Thanks for the help.

Don't bother using the Single cam tranny with the DE cuz the gears are to short. i redline at 6900 and when i shift i only drop to 5200. Unlike when i got my DE tranny i would shift at 6900 and the rpms would fall to 4500. it gives ou a higher tod end if you dissconnet the 4th and 5th gears sensors
