Leaky fuel injector
Leaky fuel injector
1990 240SX - KA24E - Auto
Ok, my front fuel injector is leaking. I bought all 3 seals for it from a Nissan dealership and replaced them. I soaked them all in gasoline before installing, and the fuel injector is still leaking.
The leak is definitely coming from the upper part of the fuel injector. I can't tell if its leaking between the rail and the upper seal, or where exactly. I just know there is a little puddle of fuel under the injector, and the orange plastic part has fuel visibly on it at all times.
If its still leaking after replacing the o-ring and seals, does that mean the injector itself is messed up?

yes it sounds like your injector is bad.....maybe the plastic cracked or something! why did you soak the seals in gasoline? i have never heard of doing that, should just install them as they are and be fine. in that case, it should puddle with the key on and fuel pressure built up..........does it?can u see it leaking out when the car is on, or is it a very slow drip that just leaves it wet with no apparent leak? sorry to hear, hope u fix it!

well, I've just heard its good to seak the seals in gasoline before before using them, I guess just so they seal better from the get go. The leak definitely seemed worse before I replaced the seals. Its slow enough that I can't actually see it dripping, but I can smell it inside the car pretty well. The puddle on the intake manifold is pretty significant. I'll try to get it all dried up and just turn the key and see if it drips just from fuel pressure building up.
