So where is the structural failure point of an SR compared to a KA then?

youve got a head like a KA block... the turbo puts more strain on the motor than a NA motor plain and simple

block for block they are nearly identical. BUT, the block is not the only thing that can fail. You have cooling, lubrication, and all sort of other things. As far as blocks go, they are just about the same

I would have to disagree about the blocks being identical, but i'm just going back to old question, why do you think the KA is more reliable then?

omfg... the Ka block and the sr20 blocks are about as reliable as they come, but since the sr20 is a turbo, it will have more heat, and need to be lubricated better, leaving open a greater chance to fail. As long as you do the swap right and keep the motor in good condition, theres not much difference, but id still put my money on KA

Don't get upset man, I'm just fu(king around with you. But I think you need to rethink your logic, the turbo only makes it less reliable in the respect of it only being an extra part from the factory to fail. Heat and lube are fine from the factory. I'm just really bored right now.

They are fine motors in the cars they were originally in. If put in a USDM 240, you need a bigger radiator, electric fans, and uh... well thats all i can think of right now

phantom's got a point though, aluminum warps faster than iron over prolonged stress...

That's totally not true you can run a completely stock setup really easily, with ZERO mods.
