Motor Mounts Bad?

Hey Guys,

I have been having some slight annoyances with my car. Every time I down shift or let go of the gas and get back on it the car is not smooth when I do these things. I had a another 240 and never had this problem. What could it be? My clutch is on its way out the door, but that shouldn't affect it if I stay in the same gear and get on and off the gas. I was thinking maybe motor mounts or tranny mounts, and if it is where are they located and how hard is it to change?

Thanks for help in advance.

if you've ever changed your oil, one of your mounts is right by the filter. and the other motor mount is on the opposite side(captain obvious)...the tranny mount is towards the back of the tranny.

Do you think the mount is what's causing the problem and how does a bad one look? and How hard is it to change?

say i'm in second gear, and then accelarate and then get off the gas and then back on it while all in the same gear, the car seems to jerk while slowing down in the gear and also while going faster in the same gear and no hesitiation from the engine either. hope that helps.

Sounds like the mounts to me. I would go with aftermarket mounts. They can still be used if you do your swap so they are not going to get chucked.

I was a SKR and the guy John there said he is going to be making some that are stronger than the NISMOs. Seems his car eats them up.

NISMO sells them. SKR deals with NISMO so you could get them there.

HPI also makes a motor brace. it goes on the motor and then attaches to the strut tower.

Yeah definitely change those mounts and get a set of hardened ones. When I changed my tranny mount the shifting became much more smoother due to the less movement by the tranny. The motor mounts were also a big improvement. You can feel every vibration inside the car
Dont if you'd like that or not.

Spitz, the car is very smooth man, my other 240 it was very nice when i would shift and down shift, but this one is a little jerky, very not like my old one. So i knew something was up.

I like to feel everything from the road don't know about the engine bay.

so, how hard is it to change?

And I guess I will need the tranny mount also in addition to the engine mounts.

Does Nismo make a tranny mount for us or just get a nissan one?
