Need Help Asap

I NEED HELP!!!!!! MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND I DON'T KNOW WHY......I DON'T HAVE A SHOP MANUAL....SO IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO ABOUT THIS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I GOT A 1991 240SX DOHC. THANKS

do you have a rough idle problem? cause if you do its probably your AIV unit or a dirty air filter

turn your car to the on position but dont start it then you need to get to your ecu behind the passanger kick panle on the back side theres a dial tern it counter clock wise 360 degreas wait at least 3 sec then turn it back. your check engine light will flash a code or codes. long flashes mean the first the digit shorter flashes mean the second digit. example flash........flash........flash...flash...flash would be 23 you'll half to find what code you have then what the code means. i dont have all the codes with me now but i'll look for them.

thanks guys.....i'll try it....n it not really rough yet but the car does jump idle a few times. not high ones......just short low revs....
