Oil on Dipstick

Oil on Dipstick

i just bought a 1990 240 with 142000 miles on it the oil was changed before i got it and it was full now when i check the dipstick it's at a little beore the L mark do i just need to add a little oil or what.

yes add a little oil.

Also, take your car to someone who's knowledgable, because you have a nasty leak and your motor is close to saying goodbye.

yea man take it to a mechanic thats how i lost my first motor because of running my car too hard on low oil. it was pushing about 156,000 miles. i pulled over at a gas station to check my oil and it was low but i had no money to get any so i drove home about an hr since i took my friend to go pick up his kid since it was his turn to see his daughter. and on the way home i heard a clicking noise and was on the way to the advance auto parts since we picked up some money to get oil and i heard a loud noise and there was a bunch of shiny metal pieces on the road. and i saw a big *** hole in the side of the bottom block and i could see all the way to my piston rod.
but um anyway sorry for the long post and yea like l2aine said go and take ur car to someone knowledgable like a mechanic or something.
