I was doing some spirited driving on a country road outside of town on the way back from a junkyard yesterday and I hit some bumps in the road and heard a scrape. Didn't think much of it as my car sits pretty low and I have scraped my exhaust a couple of times but as I got into town and hit a stoplight I noticed a little smoke coming from my drivers side wheel well. I started to think about the scraping sound that I heard and thought "oh ****! I busted my oilpan" because that burning fluid smelled familiar. I pulled into a carwash and popped the hood. I had been doing a lot of engine and undercarraige cleaning over the past couple of weeks so my bay was immaculate. There was oil on my steering rack, subframe and tension rods. WTF!!! I jacked the car up this morning, crawled under there and checked for a busted pan but everything is intact. I'm still looking for the cause but so far nothing. Any suggestions?

lay under your car with a flash ligh and see if you can see where its coming from. if its not a cracked pan its gonna be a leak from a gasket. one of the 2 front timing covers or both, front main seal, rear main seal, check those areas.
