OK What's the deal ?!? Forged pistons...

If I want forged pistons for the KA24E then I have to buy rods as well? Which is ok I guess, but $600 for 4 pistons is a bit steep. I can only imagine what it would cost with the rods.

Is this the only way I can spray 150hp NOS on it?
I read that the stock shortblock can handle 100. Maybe I should just stay with that.

150 shot of NOS on a 2.4L 4 clyinder? come on, thats just asking to kill your engine! Even a 50 shot of nos will blow the engine in a couple years, happened to one of my s14 buddies in KC, had to replace his engine every couple years. And you'll need more than rods and pistons, you'll need to ful build the engine if you're gonna run that much nos through it. Building the engine for that much nos would cost a couple grand. Need better cams too, head gasket, etc.

Aren't you the guy that says these KA's are so tough? Don't be scared!

Why is it that you can run 12's in a Honda with a 1.6L/ turbo, but it can't be done with a 2.4L and nitrous?

no dude, I said it's totally possible to do, just needs a LOT of building of the engine. They are tough, but running a 150 of nos through a almost stock engine is crazy. Anything is possible, look @ the dude with a NA s13 that said he runs 13's, because his engine was built so much. Add a turbo and it'd run 11's.

Forged pistons, nitrided valves, upgraded fuel system and stand alone nitrous management electronics. That'll do ya.

I know guys who run lotsa juice on cast pistons but they know it's risky. Fuel and nitrous management are most important tho. Without them you will blow the best built motor.
