Powerband

Sounds wierd, but everyone usually says the 240 lacks power after 5500 rpm or so. In my situation over the last 6 months of owning the car. I've found that it surges extremely quickly from 5000-7000 and pulls very hard. I've removed the catalytic convertor...and I don't think the exhaust is causing it to back up in the lower revs. are your guys' cars like this too? i don't usually take it that high, i stay away from redline, but mine has *****...is it just a rare case, its pretty much stock.

the ka usually gets a little soggy for me after 6k. the stock cat does add a lot of backpressure so removing it would help the top out. i dunno, maybe someone swapped in some good cams before?

It loses ppower up top because it wasn't meant to run that high. The long runners on the intake are meant for torque. It's also the reason why the KA has trouble breathing at higer rpms. Way to help it up top is to get more agressive cams, intake, better flowing intake manifold, etc.

mine pulls really hard around 4000 and up till about 6k, and it is all stock. And one question- i haven't heard many 240's but mine whines like a turbo and some kid told me it is because of the dual cams? does anyone know why it makes that noise?
