greeneville is about 1 hour east of knox. if you look on a map i live right off off exit 23 on i-81. i looked at your site, cool mods. i also removed the aiv, and clutch fan. and i have a 2in drop i forgot to put in the begining of the first page. i will be getting a digital cam. soon and i will post pics. and you need a head, you can find them on ebay, im sure you know this but the altima ka head will not work. the heads are used but you can fix it up just the same. i got pretty lucky with the one im getting. $346 is good with shipping, and everything is new in it, and its been resurfaced, and chemicly dipped and cleaned. it might take me a little bit longer to get all that crap for my car because i got a letter from the irs saying i owe about $15000. so i most likely get all the things i need to get the block done, and the cylinder head work i can do myself. i can do it all but the pistons and rods, and the bore if it needs it.

easy if you get the right tools... bout 200 bucks for everything you need... get the machine work done at a quality shop... there is one here outside of knox... i know it is a little ways out but they do damn good work... and for another 200 bucks they will put it all together for you when it is all done... they are putting mine together this time as soon as i get all the parts...

if your still reading this post, i found titanium retainers that are made for the ka, would those be safer to get instead of ca18de retainers? ($200 a set) and im getting the camera today so i will try to post pics soon.

Safer?????? I don't think that is a term that should be used when it comes to retainers.......
If they are for KA they were meant for that production engine.....
Besides the KA engine is made up of nissans parts bin engines.....

could you check them out for me? (www.raceeng.com) the titanium retainers are made by ferrea and they go for $12.43 a piece. this is the site where im getting the cp pistons and crower rods. they also have crower cams and head gaskets for the 240sx. they are the cheapest i can find and they are located where i grew up. im going to try to post some pics of my car if i can figure out how. thanks

Didn't see any retainers, or springs for KA there......
Go to topline for the forged rods and pistons kit, it is super cheap....

a word to the wise... in looking at the www.raceeng.com sight they only list the retainers... not the springs... if you plan on making this a high revving ka you will ned hi po double wound springs... just the retainers on stock springs would not be a good idea for bigger cams...the stronger retainers hold the springs in place and help prevent deflection of the valve... but if you use stock springs there will be a bigger chance of the spring busting in your head and dropping a valve... and a valve falling down into your head is almost always going to cause serious damage...

sometimes you can get lucky like in my case and just bend 2 vavles... other times you will crack a piston or a head... get the springs as well as the retainers...
