question on this setup

ok see i wanna just mainly drift, well having sum power to beat sum cars in a race, well after all the suspension and goodies like that upgraded i was wondering what would be a better motor to have. an all motor ka24de ( sohc pistons, cams, head/ intake manifold/ and header all p&p to match each other, and the rest to make the engine stronger like rods, springs and so on, wouldnt this give u a better power band since its all motor, or would a sr20det just boosted up and have exhaust and intake upgraded, and the same things needed to make the engine stronger like rocker stopers, springs and so on, so it can withstand the abuse. just curious i need sum goals to end up shoting for. also ive about the sohc trannys having shorter ratios would this be better for drifting to, u can bolt them onto a dohc motor right. oo ya this has to be pretty much a street car to so i dont wanna go to crazy.

This is just my opinon
Ok in drifting HP & engine doesnt really matter, its all bout suspension and handling. You u can go krazy with a Stock KA..ive seen it. And the KA can take a real beating, with all the upgrades ur ganna be doing i would belive u will have wut..close to or over 200HP @ the wheels. Stock SRs have like..185ish at the wheels so i belive u will be all right..u might be a lil underpowered but that doesnt really matter, if i had the money and knowledge id do it.

If you go with the Sr you'll probably have more hp, like -HyJynX- said. If you have the time to set the engine aside and do all the work I would definitely go for the KA. It'll have a bad a** tq band and that'll be more then enough for you to drift in. hey you can drift using the stock engine.

Get a lsd. Get a clutch. Get new bushings. Take all of the slop out of your drivetrain. You will gain some of that lost hp back. The car will be faster.

Trust me.
