replacing battery cables

alright, for all of you who helped me figure out what was wrong with the car to begin with, heres another issue..

got the car starting great and all, we re-wired the harness for the alternator so that it charges now!

BUT heres the issue, the positive battery cable is only sending about 11v to the battery where the battery tests (and should be) inbetween 12 and 15v specifically it tested at about 14.4v

so the alternator is charging but is not sending enough power to the battery to recharge that.

so any help or a how to would be great thanks!

If the battery was severly killed a couple times it may not be able to hold a charge greater than 11-12v. Its really unlikely. If the alt is putting out 14.4 you should be good to go. 8 Gauge wire would cut it, but I've redone mine with 4 Gauge where possible. I think factory is 8's and over time corrode.
