Rod Knock maybe?

What up guys. I'm having this problem with my car. I looked it up and thought maybe it was this rod knock you guys were talkin about, but it doesnt seem that you guys are havin the problem I am.

Here's the problem. The car starts, cranks and idles fine. But when I put it in gear and start going something starts rattling. I'm not sure where it's comin from, but somewhere in the engine/tranny area, down low. Its a ***** ***** ***** kinda sound. It only does it after a shift and for the first couple thousand rpms in the new gear. It may do it sometimes at idle, but not really. I've replaced the upper timing chain tensioner and it doesnt seem to be comin from that area. I've done maybe 50 miles or so this way. Even when i rev it up and shift, itll still do it but a little louder. I'm kinda planning on rebuilding the engine anyway. someone let me know if theyve had this problem.

I would say you got a problem with your tranny, mainly your clutch from the sound of it

maybe a spun rod bearing. Would really have to be there in person to get a full analysis of your problem, sorry I couldn't help much

I personally would think that if you have a spun rod bearing and it is low on power, you just aren't going to have a question about it. It really doesn make an unmistakeable sound. BADA$$240 is right, without seeing it in person it is hard to make a diagnosis.

If its a rod bering, stop using ur car. I had a small cliking in my engine, and never cheked it. It turned out to be a rod bering and only after it wore down to the shaft did it catastrofically desintegrated and I lost my engine. Get it cheked by a mechanic quick. and don't drive it any more.

Why buy a new motor all you have to do is change out the rod bearings.if it spun a bearing just replace the bearings with over size bearing. you can buy them stock size, 25 over and 50 over.
check the crank for scuffs when you take the bearings out, and also check the crank with a micrometer for specs.

how much are bearins? i figured it would be easier just to get a ka and throw it in there instead of changing out the bearing and rod if its damaged...

PS. this is zenkislider, accidently signed in as motegineon woops...

Hey my motor did the same thing i did some donuts and went to drive home and when i got it to 2K it would clunk hard and loud and fast in the bottom end.Sounds like its near your tranny but its not.It was my rod bearings.I got my car torn apart only takes about 8 hours but thats cuz I tore my transission off in the process which isnt necisarry but Im putting a light weight flywheel n clutch in.I spun my crank and checked all my rids..Shook rod 2 and 3 and they werre loose as hell.So im replacing all of em.Its easy if you have basic car knowledge and not expensive to fix...But when you take of your bearings make sure you did not damage or ridge your crank in the process. And you will notice metal shavings in the bottom of your oilpan.Thats normal...Or normal if you have soun rod bearings but not nrmal normal..lol u kno what I mean....

So l Iaughed at him and said Hondas are great cuz of light weight???and chuckled its not a sport with no torque GO BUY A NISSAN.
