Rough idle at startup

Rough idle at startup

hey guys my 1990 240 at startup now it wants to die after sitting for a little bit. It idles rough then sometimes dies. After i hold it at like 2 grand for a little it is okay. This is only at start up though. Any clue on what i should do to fix this. thanks

You may want to check the timing setting. Had a friend with a S14 who messed around with his timing and experienced similar problems.

It may also be a sensor problem...I had this an idle problem and it turned out to be a bad sensor on the TB (the one that operatered my cruise control). Hope this helps. I may be talking out of my @ss but those are a couple of problems that I've seen with idle issues.

check the hose on bottom of intake piping.had the same problem.and just fixed it about a half hour ago.i think it is a vacuum line but not completely sure.
