Shot of spray

How big of a shot of spray could a stock KA24DE take safely or lightly modified?

I went to FAQ and found out that the KA could take a 100 shot about two times before blowing if your lucky. I don't know what it could take if you reinforced it for spray.

It *should* be able to handle 100 shot, but that also determines on the tune and condition of the engine.

Can't speak for the dual cam, but my bone-stock internal KA24E absolutely thrives on a "60 shot." I'm using a Nitrous Works wet kit, went one step colder on the plugs, and left the timing at the stock spec.

On the bottle, the car does 210 hp and 285 foot-lbs to the wheels, through an automatic transmission, no less.

My advice would be to start with small jets (whatever the kit manufacturer recommends for 35 or 50 hp, tops), the best pump gas you can get, and 2 degrees taken out. Because you've got higher compression than I do, I'd suggest being very careful and conservative with the timing; listen carefully for knock, pull the plugs and check them for signs of detonation, and learn how to read the "temper line" on the ground electrode.

Even 100 extra HP at the wheels isn't going to hurt the stock bottom end if the engine isn't detonating, IMHO.

Hell Yeah on Stock Internals except for ARP Rod Bolts! Too much Nitrous at lower RPMs seems to be the cause of 90% of the Engine Failures that I've seen. Higher HP shots put a lot of stress on Engine while Car is standing still. But once the Car is Moving I Have seen a Very High Success rate with it Especially with a Two Stage. A little to get you going and The rest to Keep you there.

I don't know why 240 owners are scared of Nitrous. I don't run it on the Street so at the Track Nitrous Plugs go in. Timing is taken out and Race Gas is used. I Shift earlier in the Power Band than I normally would and at the End of the Track I let go of the Throttle, Disarm the Nitrous, Push in the Clutch and Turn the Car off.

Yeah on the 1/4 mile is where i'll be. The Sides are stock Kouki, but the Pic makes it look Molded but it's not. The Front is C-West but it is undergoing the Knife and without saying too much, Alot of Fiberglass and Carbon Fiber will find it's way on my Bumper.
