should i buy it? 95 240sx

well i test drove this 240 today at a local dealer. its got enkie 19's on it and a 350lb sales dude in the pass seat.

its got 150k on the clock and it felt sluggish as hell to be honest.

would the 19's make that much diff? its got a k&n style cone filter, and removed resonator and fart can exhaust. its pretty loud. at idle is has a braaap braaap sound like my rx-7. is that normal for a n/a car?

i need opinions. i was generally unimpressed, so im wondering if its b/c of the huge wheels and the gigantic salesdude that the car felt sluggish?

The wheels and huge sales guy adds to the sluggishness. Could also use a tune up, my car hasn't had a good tune up in a very long time and is feeling more sluggish since the first day I drove her.

well the 19"s will make it feel sluggish, and the fat dude won't help any... you sure that noise was the idle or the fat dude?!?!

Anyhow, what's the price on her? My 95 sounded/felt the same way, had about 150k, one of those mufflers on and a god awful Aluminum double-decker clothes hanger wing. A tuneup did wonders, and I paid only $4000 for my car.

Didi it myself, so all I paid for was parts: plugs, cap, rotor, wires, did a radiator flush, oil change, and drove the first 2 tanks with fuel system cleaner mixed in the tank.

they want 7900$ for this car. its got a cracked windshield, scratches here and there, and the trunk and hood are crooked. that and the enkeis are even scratched to hell.

im trying for financing right now... but im not paying 8g's for this car. shifter also feels really loose, and the clutch on these cars is very large... like shifting a truck lol.

$7900? what year is it? If it's a Zenki (95-96) I don't care if it's got 24" wheels, thats way overpriced for the condition.

omg lol it says 95 ahaha

"high demand" ROFL

he must have gone to D1

BTW even with a plain swap the S14 won't run 14's.

If I were you I'd go elsewhere to find a car... sounds like the dealer is trying to milk the drift thing.

no matter how hard it is to find, private sellers are usually your best bet. Don't be hesitant to go out of state for one. some people cross 2-3 states to just buy a 240sx. those guys are hardcore.

edit: Why was this thread in the NA section? because of the "sluggish" thing?
