Single Cam to Dual Cam

I'm getting an SR swapped in soon so i'll have my KA24E in the garage. Can i the head off the KA-DE and bolt it to the KA-E? Is there any other parts i need to successfully morph my single cam?

hahahaha way to go jdmxdrift.. okay here is ur answer to ur last questions about it runing right??.. i'm not sure how it runs.. but far as i know it's like this.... everything lines up (water/coolant/oil holes) all you need is the part of the harness from a DOHC that includes the head work and it will work.. most people have said it works fine but then some people have said it doesn't work or their motor runs for about a month a dies.. so do some searching.

haha yea. Well this is just a spare engine that i wouldn't mind rebuilding and maybe selling it for cheap to a friend of mine with an eight-six. I guess they do KA swaps into those, and he doesn't have enough money for the 20v 4age. So you say i need to replace the wires to the head of the single cam with the warness from a dual cam harness?

the questions come into play with the front cover... which ones to use and how to make them fit together... i dont remember where i read it but it was o this forum and they had the answers to your questions... it has been done... i just dont remember what all it took to do the swap... but the front cover is the part in question...

yep its the front cover issue. from the pics ive seen its the area just above the water pump where the head split is. its very possible to have a plate made to cover everything up. but for all the effort its just about as easy to swap in a de. or if your interested in building up a e, then vist the nismo catalog. they have quite selection of parts available for it like itbs, cams. also the ecu is easier to manipulate.

If you want to go cheap with smaller displacement for higher rev, the KA head also bolts to NAPS-z front sump blocks........
