it's not a myth, atleast not entirely. i can't recall right now but it's like .05 in. you will notice better acceleration but it might be because of the new plugs.

the reason that it's not entirely a myth is because you can play around with the plugs and try cooler or hotter plugs and get some gains depending on your set up.

5 hourses? maybe i havent see any dynos to prove it, but i've never looked. it is how ever a possibility.

no, you lose five hourses because it takes you that long to re-gap and test all your setup's. lol

let's put it this way

horses=what you might gain from this mod

hourses = the amount of time you wasted

i forgot to mention that if you do find the right gap you also need to run higher octain fuel, or so i've heard. i have no proff for or against this mod. all i can say is that i've been told it works.

with that said i've never tryed it nor do i plan on it. just get an msd coil and call it good

yeah, msd coil and 8.5mm wires and 1/2mm of gap wont matter at all.

i think this and the z32 fule filter "mod" work to a degree but on the same principle. that is to say you'll feel better responce but only becuase you now have new plugs.

the idea behind the bigger gap is that you'll get more spark and inturn better cumbution/ more hp.

to me, this mod seems to lack at least three other componants for it to yeild any gains.
1. msd (or any good aftermarket) ignition system
2. better wires
3. better coil

like i say i've been told and read about this "mod". however, unless i see some proff i don't belive it alone will produce anything other than muiltiple misfires.
