Why would you get it from phase 2?
You can get universal catco cats off of ebay for under $50. I had gotten mine flangless, and I welded the flanges on. Flanges cost like $2.00. If you can't weld a flangless muffler shops can do it between $60~$80......

i'd rather not bother with welding. just want to take off then on. i could get the stock cat for around 100 or get the one from phase2 for 150, i also have another option to get a hedmen for 188. i wouldn't have to wait for the stock or hedmen one either. bleh hard time making a decision, i wish there was somewhere over here that had catco in stock.

well just got back with talking with my friend and he said that cat's don't usually leak because they are made pretty tuff. he said i might have blown the gaskets. i just recently lowered my car and went to fast over a speed bump and heard a slight scrap which was probably my cat. since it being old and being moved he said it probably ripped the gasket.
so all in all i am gonna try redo the gaskets first before going for a cat. maybe while i am down there i can check things out.

gutting your cat is essentially the same as a test pipe except you have a big hollow in the middle of the pipe and a test pipe is just a pipe.

Gutting the cat is bad, it affects flow numbers in the exhaust , and makes pulses through out the pipe scattered and uneven. It would show horrible results. If you are going to gut the cat you need to do it right and add a resonator pipe.

Gets rid of the deep tone? I dont think so nick. It helps cancel out the high tones which make your ears bleed (okay not really) and helps reduce noise, making it less of a buzz and more of a...hum? oh well. Just install it and see for yourself.
