Timing overghaul KA24DE

A factory service manual is worth it's weight in gold.
Don't forget to set #1 piston to TDC on compression stroke *before* you remove the crank pulley and the front cover.
Bag and label every bolt you pull out. Bolts from same component should go in the same bag. Sealable sandwich bags + sharpie = stress relieving organization.
I'll know more quite soon, as I'm in the middle of doing one. My engine is on an engine stand however, with both manifolds off already. The FSM says that it is necessary to remove the head, so order a head gasket when you order your timing set. Also you should take the opportunity to replace some of the less accessible rubber hoses while you're at it.
