what is this? w/ pics

so right now i have the head off the ka24e and i notice this hose coming from the throttle body and i dont know what it is and why someone has cut it, i see where it is suppose to go but im not sure what it is so heres some pics. the first one is the hose w/ the gold marker on it and the second is the one going to the right of the oil filter,

the first one should go to the second one.. if im correct thats the pcv.

i didn't explore my sohc KA much at all becuase i blew it and swaped to dohc and thats where i got all my knowledge lol

yeah i know they are suppose to be together, the hose is like a hard plastic almost like a pipe..?.. should i put a new hose back on or do i need it? thanks

yes replace the hose if you must. the pcv valve is a small but essential part of your engine.

i bought a new valve today and when i went to take the old one old i notice i very hairline crack right above where the pcv threads in, actually on the throttle body, will that cause a problem?

i don't follow, is it on the tb or manifold? the pcv valve goes on the manifold almost centered on the right side. the tb well thats on the manifold also but on the front.

either way the crack will cause a vacuum leak.

sorry for not being clear, if you look up at the first pic, you see the hose i was talking about it actually has the gold marker on the hose, if you follow it to the TB it see where it flanges out thats where its cracked. that any clearer? lol
