I'm thinking of starting a drifting/performance driving club for people in the Northern New Jersey area.

I've done (and still do) autocross pretty much every weekend, but I'm not really satisfied with it. In most autocross events, you get 8 runs (at the most), which is a really short amount of time on the course. You have no time to practice or tune your car.

Also, there are no places to drift in this area at all.

So this is how I see it working:

If there's a decent amount of interest in starting a club, we can find available parking lots to rent out for a day of drifting/performance driving. It shouldn't be too expensive, and we can split the cost.

We can set up a course with traffic cones (pretty much like autocross) and have a day of drifting/driving. Maybe we can have some kind of drifting or racing (time-based) competition where the winner gets some kind of cash price.

Leave some comments if you're interested. Even if you're not, let me know about any large parking lots you've seen in NJ that might be available Saturdays/Sundays.

Yea... practicing drifting on my own in parking lots is getting harder now that every single rent-a-cop security guard is familiar with my car..

need a legal way to practice..

 

i used to be from toms river nj. but now im in arkansas goin to school. i wouldve joined up. no doubt. ill have to keep an eye open for u tho since i will go home. lol.

yea. it sucks cuz its far but the schools really nice and there is a 5 to 1 girl to guy ratio so i def see that as a good thing. just lacking some 240 love out here. i havent seen anyone around with one. just 4x4 looking crown victorias with 34 inch crome. lol

im in andover,newton, sparta area. i would love to get invloved but i dont have a car to drift with. im still in the lookout for an s13 hatch with an SR. so at the moment im investing my money to get that **** to work for me instead of work for it haha. but yeah, im in PA for school but im interested in hangin out, seeing the show, and get some networking in there. Keep me updated
