Im very picky when looking for a 240. The closest s14 for sale is in VA and the guy wants $7000 for a SE with ove 150k miles. Its been really difficult to find one this year. It seems like there was about 20 for sale last year, and hardly any now.

Yea, its nearly impossible to find a good deal on a 240 now. Especially in Cali, even a run down 240 can run up to around 5k. I bought mine [96 SE (RIP)] in good condition for 5k before the whole drifting hype came around.

you know 240sx are popular when people with RX-7's and Hachi's want to trade their cars for a 240.

Jay maybe you are looking in the wrong places?

We know of plenty 240s for sale in the North East.

I sold my AE86 last year and have been searching for a base model S13 coupe. I've missed a couple due to lack of funds & weren't "perfect!" I guess I'm picky too. No worries though cuz I've seen a few lately that look awesome. I'm going to printout some business cards & see if the owners will be selling anytime soon.

Wish me luck!

I dont think that 240's in general are getting more popular. But I think when a person gets into drifting they want to know what a good car for drifting is and this is where the 240 pops up. So Drifting leads to 240's. (my theory) But then again, i liked 240's a year before i even knew what drifting was.

In my area they are rare too. Some places have more than others which leads people to think, "If there are plenty of 240's in my area and not his, he's probably not looking hard enough." <- Not always true. You just have to keep looking like i have been.

I got mine for 2800 in june of 03, with 108k on it. its a 1991 SE hatch in beautiful condition, and I could probably sell it now with 130k on it for more than I paid for it...

but I never will, I love my car
