Its just one of their strategies to knock their out of pocket cost to you. Man I shoulda gave my number to you, I'd ***** them down for pulling that **** on you bro. You have no idea how many adjusters used to pull that **** on me, I just "remind" them about the CA state law that instructs them to only create an estimate based on damages caused during the accident that the claim is filed for.
With that, I stretch the line with them about them trying to "cheat" the client out of a full payment to cover damages, forcing the client to pay out of pocket. It takes a bit of *****ing and arguing, but it works.
But in reality, the law doesnt prevent them from really reducing the total cost from them paying you. But if you can manipulate the law, it works =)
