Rap on the radio nowadays sucks..... plain and simple. It's all about club music and ****. And down here in the south it's even worse. When I tell people I dont really listen to rap they look at me like I'm from another planet or something (probably because I'm in the south, originally from california though, and I'm black and know the words to more rock, alternative, metal, and country songs than recent rap songs). I listen to rappers like Talib Kwali, Common, Lupe Fiasco to name a few who are more known.

Oh well. Most Americans around my age cant think outside the box anyway so... meh.

 

the last "hip hop" artist i payed any attention to was K-os, but he plays guitar sings, raps, writes his own songs. I'm not sure how much of a "hip hop" artist I'd consider him to be, but i am very impressed with this music...

aries spears is awesome! he is the only person i know of that has an eddie murphy impersonation that is good, but yeah i HATE soulja boy and i think spears would crush him in a battle haha.
