Cavalier Drift FTL!!!!

Well everyone who knows the Stig knows that he drives a red Cavalier as his daily beater . . . here's a picture

Name: DSC_8281.jpg
Views: 2
Size: 66.7 KB

Now that you've seen that here's the NEWS

http://www.11alive.com/video/player.aspx?aid=75012&bw=

The sad thing is,

1. How the News Reporter describes drifting.

2. That drifting is now associated with hurt, crime and death!

Not that it wasn't before, but this is really going to put a bad light on it. No offense to my West Coast buddies (I love you guys) but I don't want the same thing that happened there to happen here at our tracks because kids are out drifting their FWD cars off of parking garages.

This is bad, very bad, not only was he hurt, but he hurt the image of drifting, and unknowingly, put a BIG bruise on the side of all drifters who are like myself, Donny, Batosaii and others who are actually trying to make something REAL out of drifting and motorsports in general.

I can't believe how much this is going to hurt drifting, it's not like autocross,y you never hear of anyone dying trying to reenact autocross, but now drifting is going to have to try even HARDER to be taken serious and become respected.

Drifters . . . we have our work cut out ahead of us.

For those of you still drifting in the Streets.....you know who you are . . .STOP!!!! Just for a little while at least, once this **** blows over, then yeah, give it a month of you behaving on the road THEN go back to your old ways, but at least give us a month without yet ANOTHER "drifting" incident. Note the quotes.

I don't think this is as big a deal as you think Dave. It only got a 10 second spot on the news and nobody died and he only hurt himself. It would have been a MUCH bigger deal if he had hit somebody. I'm gonna be honest, I have pulled the ebrake in empty parking lots in my cavalier, until I ***ked up my ABS doing it.

Yeah I'm with DJ, it's just too much at risk. In the SCCA, you lose your license, you lose your racing license, and then you have to go through the process all over again to get it back. YES! It's a punishment, the SCCA holds it's drivers to the utmost and you are almost required to be on your P's and Q's and represent the SCCA in the best manner possible at all times.

Instructors . . .LOL. . . .we lose our instructors certificate . . . PERMANENTLY!!

Yeah, definitely more to lose now then when I was pushing my 550hp Camaro around the streets of Miami!

I WAS GONNA BEAT YO ***!!!!! LOL!

Just messin!!!

But yeah, it is kinda funny that it would land there and I was actually waiting for the jokes to start rolling in . . . .I figured battosaii would be the FIRST one to roll the "Cavalier in the Dumpster" jokes, LOL!

But everyone here makes very valid points, people don't realize that things like freedom, your ability to drive and your ability to stay within our lovely games that we call motorsports is FAR more important than any parking lot "drift". Note the quotes around the word "drift"

My little sister made a pretty funny comment (she's 13 and already in love with motorsports) she said that he was probably gonna put it on YouTube and had his friend's recording, as soon as he went over the edge, they took off, LOL! She's crazy . . . morbid . . . .but crazy, LOL!
