man when i worked at sears in the tools department i had the same deal.. 4.50 + comission. But the sears was located in a shopping mall so i averaged about 13 bucks an hour instead of 9. the trick is to make friends with the customers who buy pnuematic tools for their shops/cars because those are the guys that will constantly come back and buy expensive stuff. If they like you they will come back and ask for you... (especially if you give em a little discount)

I'm a Junior in high school this year. So far it really sucks...I hate my American Literature class, and with Trig being at the end of the day, I can hardly pay attention and just focus on getting in my truck and getting the hell home.
I'm really looking forward to 2 hours of auto shop every morning next semester though. It's Auto III, so I can do anything I want to my car (Hopefully I'll have a 240 by then ), engine swaps, clutch jobs, you name it. I helped put a 350 in a truck last year, it was pretty fun. I'm also taking Welding I and II which is going to be kick ***. Hopefully if I get good at it, I'll be able to get myself an old 85 Toyota Pickup and fabricate some motor mounts for a 350 swap, and fabricate a custom 4 link suspension, then have my 240 as my daily driver. I love doing hands-on stuff rather than punching numbers or writing about something I'll never even think about again in my life.

I make 8.30/ hour ... but i live in the great state of TAXACHUSSETTES. 8.30 sounds like a lot, but my car insurance is going to be about 2,200 a year.
Mass is the statistically the most expensive state to live in... don't move here. And dont' come to cape cod in the summer either .. PLEASE! lol
I wish we had fun classes in my school. This year my electives are Spanish III and Personal/Business Law.
The funnest class i've taken was a full year Advanced Weight Training class, last year.

For everyone still in highschool, enjoy it. Sometimes it really sucks, but you'll enjoy college so much you won't realize how much you've changed. It's really quite a shock. A good college will definately open up doors for you. I'm trying to get an internship over at BBC motoring department, the same company that does top gear and the BBC magazines. That's my dreamjob and I don't care if they pay me in bread.
The important thing is that you go, or at least give it your best shot, I'll agree I get completely fed up with it once and while but it almost seems as if the college degree is the new highschool diploma, and people are egging me to go to grad school. Yuck. Enjoy your freshman year, work the rest. My advice.
