free online price guides

so dose anyone know of an free online price guides. i have a bunch of baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and some x-men cards from he late 80's and early 90's. i know some are worth some money or they were worth some money because i have some old buckets.

but anyways i don't want to go and spend money for something that might be worthless. i've looked around but can't find any free sites.

-this is what you do if you want to sell them. Go into a card-shop and say: "I want to sell these, but don't **** with me, because i KNOW how much there worth". and when he tells you how much he'll give you for them: "what? are you serious? Thats it?"

There are card and comic (both sports and comic) conventions where I live all the time, with 1000s of collectors that have tables. They have certified people that will appraise your stuff for free. Keep an eye out for those. I once found a Johnny Unitas card in a plastic case in the middle of the street. I took it to one of those shows and found out it was worth 45 bucks.

You could try Beckett though.

beckett on line is not free anymore from what i've read. and i have a lot of cards that are probably worthless so i doubt anyone will want to appraise them for me. last i checked the most valuable cards i had were worth like $30. this was like in '98 though.

but i think beckett is like $6 am month for unlimited access to all there guides so i might do that instead of actually buying a guide for each sport.

Oh, I used Beckett at my friend's house (his dad is a collector) so maybe it was logged in under his account. I didnt know you had to pay for it.

i just checked and it's $19.99 for 1 month of unlimited access to all their price guides. i've wasted a lot more than $20 on worthless stuff before so i might just do that.

I can't wait till Pokemon cards are worth something again.

Charizard and Venusaur are going to pay for my house.
