Gmail is pretty good so far... I switched from Hotmail since Hotmail doesn't let you check your email with an app (Outlook Express) unless you subscribe (in other words, pay).

yahoo is free, and what makes google so different from hotmail? I would assume you would have to forward all of your "special emails". lol

I've always used an external app for checking my email, and I stayed away from Yahoo and others in the past because Hotmail was the only one to work with Outlook Express (I think since then yhoo works with POP now). When Microsoft announced mid-last year that they were going to end free Hotmail access except for those who decide to upgrade, it made me look for a new "free email" option. A friend happened to have a Gmail invite, so I decided WTH and I tried it.

And the 1gb thing is cool... I think all the other free emails have upgraded as a result of Gmail since it came out.
