I bought an R1

Some of you may remember me posting awhile back about me riding a yamaha r1 and how much I wanted one. Well yesterday my dream came true , i was either considering buying a 97-98 240 or buying a used r1, well I decided on the r1..Took out a loan for 9000 and bought it off ebay, its a 2001 champions edition r1. Going to pick it up later this week

yea might not want to get an r6 to learn on, ive been learning on a kawasaki zx-6, and before that a honda shadow. The r6\r1's are so light and have such good throttle response that it might not be smart to start out with. Might be better to buy like a $500 beater bike

yeah I am gonna have to agree with you on that. I am picking up a piece of crap this summer, once I start working again. I wouldnt want to learn on a nice bike, I would probably just fu*k it up.

The R1 is a nice bike. My best friend works at a company in Europe called QB Carbon. He owns a Ducati 748R and MV Agusta F4s. As for the R6 starter bike.......good luck. Knowing me I would wreck the thing the first ride, Thats why I have a Derbi GPR 50R and an Aprilia RS50.....Small,light,cheap($3500 new),and somewhat fast....90mph at the most.....

sweet! since i already have a car, i was thinking of saving up a little to get a used r6 this summer but after frequenting clubwrx.net and nasioc.com for 3 months, I decided to sell the 95 alty and buy an 04 WRX. it also helped that Im entitled to any subaru at invoice (minus the sti) Anyway-sweet choice! post some pics and be careful!
