New skyline engine
what do you guys think about the engine that the new skyline is going to have in japan. i heard it is going to be the VG35DET. Do you guys think that the new V6 will be as good as the I6 in the skyline?

nissan hasnt disappointed us yet with engines. the RB's kick major ***, and the new 3.5 in the Z car owns all. so I'd expect the new skyline engine to be pretty amazing.
I'll also expect it to see the states, since Nissan has said they are going to sell the skyline here finally?

A v8 skyline thats a really big jump. when i think of a V8 i think of huge amounts of american muscle and the loud exhaust that the domestics make. not the smooth sound of a import. Would't that change the definition of a skyline from a sport car to a muscle car?I'm not hating on domestics i like them.

well, from what i've heard, the GT-R could end up with one of the following engines:
- VQ33DETT (basically a destroked VQ35)
- VQ35DETT
- VK56DE (supposedly for North America)
even at this stage in the game, details are still sketchy. and i think NIssan is doing one hell of a job keeping things "hush-hush". as it stands, we really don't know what the body will look like, which engine it will come with, or even if North America will get screwed (engine wise) again as opposed to Asia, Europe, and Austraila. hell, for all i know it can have a twin charged, 3.7L VR7.

ca12e. I'M KIDDING.
I read a V8 is possible, which woul dbe more of a reasonable upgrade from the last model 6cyl twin turbo.
Anyhow, with the Skyline I'm not gonna speculate much - just wait until the car is on the auto show floor with a sticker on it!

i thought it was going to be the vq32dett with displacemnet on demand = more stroke when needed?????
but anyway id be happy with a V35 skyline 350GT... the new GT-R is going to be a beast... i just hope it comes with RHD as an option like the old 240z's had... WHY CANT RHD BE AN OPTION DAMN IT WHY WHY??? lol

I thought it was gonna be a turboed V-8. That'd be beastly. I know the SC400's have V-8's in them. I'm not sure if that makes them muscle cars. Haven't ridden in one, but it's Japanese engineering, so I'm assuming its similar to its other engines.
