jay leno's tankrod is the largest i know of that goes on a road.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...o/1302941.html

his engine, a Patton tank diesel from WWII is rated at 1792cu.in. (29.4 liters), pumps 800 horses and 1560ft-lb. of torque.

as for the big bertha of engines, i shiver at the thought of blowing a piston ring, or even just changing the oil.

yeah i saw that clip *hehehe* its the FH254800DET2. a full clip from a container ship.

FYI, yes the motor code is a joke... FH254800DET2

254800 (displacement: 25,480 liters)
DET (yeah you know that)
2 (for two-stroke)
and just if you're wondering, FH is the motor code for ****ING HUGE!!!

i wonder what other real world applications something like this could be used for though.

It's so freaking huge that it looks fake. I mean looking at those pics you can tell it isn't a spoof but good frucking lord. 108,000 + hp? Like if you had that in a street car the second you hit the gas if the axle didn't break into a million pieces, the tires and rim would be instantly consumed.
