That was one lucky S.O.B. he should be praising the cop for that. I thank the one that only busted me for careless driving and improper passing even though i was actually going about 110 in a 55, while traversing four lanes of light traffic with my wife in the car. My road rage from being cut off twice by the same person for no reason (no, no street racing for me) could have caused me to go to jail that night because i was well over the 20mph over the limit and with my wife in the car, I feel I could have been charged with recless endangerment. I think one of the reasons he let me off lightly is that he could see how mad my wife was at me. So, $280 and 3 years later I am back to a clean record.

i caught a huge break when i was doing donuts and drifting my face off in a parking lot at my school at 430am. The UCA cop was very respectful, although shookin up from watching me do my thing. he gave me a campus ticket for wreckless driving which was $75 and no points instead of a state issued ticket (the campus cops have state jurisdiction here) which was lots and lots.....and lots more $$$$. the cop said, "son, i didnt think u was gonna do that...i thought cha seen me settin over there." then he laughed at me. i told him i had just gotten my car back together and he said he understood and he'd take care of me. all i said was "thank you sir" and "im sorry sir."

yea being respectful will get you out of a lot of situations/lessen the penalty. when i was younger most of my pull overs were minor things. I only had on major ticket in my life and even that was less than it could have been at 287 dollars. just be respectful and own up to your **** ups. They don't like to be played as dumb asses, its an insult to the training that they go through. And when it comes to it. many of them just like the power that they have over individuals. you don't have to kiss ***, but just be respectful and cooperate.
