S'all good dude, I used my canon powershot sd550 for a LONG time and I've gotten many great shots with it too. I took all of these with my point and shoot sd550, sorry I ***** a lot.

spiffy camera. i've heard from my friend (owns and runs a camera shop) the Nikon D40x isn't really a true digital SLR. it's more of an idiot box (point & shoot) with a decent lens that makes a soccer mom think she's taking professional shots.

return it and get a D80 or a EOS-1D Mark III

I don't get why this isn't a "true SLR", do you consider that because it doesn't have an internal AF motor to power non-AF-S lenses? It has a fewer choices in lenses, thats true, but regardless I don't see why it's an "idiot box" A good amount of the new lenses coming out in the market have been AF-S and many have VR. So if it's lens selection you're talking about, It's not a problem for me because I'm not a camera veteran that has 5+ older/other lenses that need to fit. So if you could, without calling it names and with thorough discussion, I'd like to know why I should get a d80 or an eos-1d instead.

Still getting the hang of it, it's really different than the 35mm that I'm used to (haha, as if that was surprising) Anyway, here's a picture that I really liked from my new camera. I haven't had too many chances to take it out yet since I've been all over the stupid car.
