to your edit: on your remote press 'display' . if it's there.

 

I dont know man. Its not the original remote, its just all messed up. When you push the number buttons it doesnt do anything either. Ill mess with it later.

 

i garbage picked a tv one time. no name brand: 'signature 2000'. i used it for about 4 years too! 19" all i had to do was buy a universal remote


but yeah, usually the display button will get rid of stuff like that. but if your remote is dead, that might be hard (i can't use my NEW tv without a remote, i mean if i want to change inputs)

 

No display. I think ill get a new one.
