I don't get what you're talking about with F4.5 or whatever, but I guess it's "F-stops"? Thats right; I wikipedia.

 

You got it F-Stops, that's the apparatus that allows more or less light (read detail) into your camera for a given lens, shutter speed and ISO. The lower the F-Stop, the more light is allowed into a given lens, the higher the F-Stop, the less light per given lens.


There's a lot of detail that I can go into about it, but it's probably nothing that you haven't already read on Wiki!
