Sr20 240 vs B16 Honda Civic
Ok, My friend is a Honda fanatic and has a 1993 Honda Civic. He want's to do a B16 engine swap(or something like that). We work together and everyday at work we argue on which would win a 1991 Nissan 240SX with a S20DET or a Civic with a B16? And this is with stock internal's and all that stuff. I say the 240 would win and he says the Civic. So can anyone who is not biased or just a very technical person chime in with what they think would win. We are both going to end up doing these swaps and want to race. Mind that we both are at about the same driving skill. So any help! lol

SR20 is a 2.0 litre
B16 is a 1.6 litre
Bigger engine = more power. + the SR20DET has a turbo and the b16 doesn't. I am pretty sure both of the cars weigh about the same and another thing, you have RWD and he has FWD. I'm pretty sure you would beat the Civic.

180sx test
you can expect a 0 - 100 km/h sprint to be despatched in low-to-mid 6 seconds( taken from the above link)
Even if it was a k20a you would still win. 0-60 in 8.5sec>

No way. That's way modest for both cars. i say mid to high 7's for both cars stock with swaps. 93 civics (esp. hatch) are way light. Power to weight ratio should be the same with the two cars. Sombody do some numbers to prove me wrong or right.

B16 = 160 HP FWD
SR20 = 208HP RWD
CA18 = 175HP RWD
RWD is better then FWD for drag, and all the JDM motors for Nissan push more power then a B16.
power to weight i'ed say is a tie if the honda is a bubble back. but you still have RWD advantage at launch.

it would depend on what model civic. if its a gutted hatch he might beat you, but if its a coupe, then you will take him. i have a sohc non vtec in my crx and it takes my 240 by a long shot, and its only about 110hp base. but then again my 240 still has the ka24de in it
