street racing in my blood...

Okay so some kinda freaky stuff happened to me today. Well first off lemme start by saying that I've been into street racing since I was 14 (5 years ago) and I got interested because the local street gatherings took place right outside my house. (I wasn't "inspired" by the 2F2F movies) But anyways...my dad never knew I was street racing until about 2 years ago and I found out that he use to street race when he was in high school. He was one of those american muscle car enthusiasts. He had a 1974 Monte Carlo SS t-top.

Well anyways...today I went over to my grandmas to visit and she was showing me an old photo album of my grandpa when they first met. And wouldn't you know it...they got together because she liked his car! ahahha She was telling me how he used to race on the streets with his 1954 Chevrolet Bel-Air....

I was trippin' out....so technically, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for street racing...it was kinda freaky but also kinda cool to find out that I'm a 3rd generation street racer...I'm so proud

High all, I can trace my car routes to my mom's father. He used to drive a purple 32 Ford with a Caddy V8 back in the 40s-50s.

My mom also told me one day that my dad was watching me play with my matchbox cars, He said: "Make sure that kid never gets a Turbo"

Hahaha when I was in the "FWD drag" days @ Pomona, one time I locked my keys in the car before the races started... the only person to have a spare was MY DAD so I had to get a ride home to get the key (I could say I was at the supermarket or something).

I get home, and he's not there. My ride went back to the track (nice guy in an SE-R, forgot his name) so there I was stuck outside my house (remember the keys are in my car AT THE TRACK) for about 30 minutes until my dad came home.

I told him I locked my keys in the car, and he said "no prob, let's go". UH OH.

So I reluctanly give him directions back to Pomona raceway, and when we got to the gate, he was like, "are you racing?" and I couldn't lie, so I said "yes" and he said "...and you locked your keys in the car?" and I said "yeah"...

...and he started laughing! I thought he was gonna be mad but he wasn't... so there we both were, 1 hour later, watching the races waiting for the track to call my class so I can do a run... and my dad is there in the stands with me talking about his good ole' days in his Mustang.

I love my dad
