Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 for PS2

Hey everyone, I just bought this game, TXR3, and so far, all I can say is SICK!. All the cars in the game are licensed so no more XB95R crap. I started out w/ a 180SX, and so far, it's gotten me very far in the game, about 24% (that's a lot considering it's a starter car). It has about 345ps (metric hp), and no body mods except for removal of the Type-X wing, which looks pretty good, and some over fenders. On all the body parts you buy, you can choose between carbon fiber (can have it painted to have the sleeper look too), polyurethane, and fiberglass. It's a lot harder than TXR0 and has 3x more people to race. I'm debating on buying a new car, and don't know if I should get a S15, Fairlady Z TT 2+2, or FD3S. Great game for anyone interested, I can get some screenshots if anyones interested. -Chris

I still got to buy this game. TCR0 was a fun game, and I heard this one has better handling which is a major plus

I don't really think it's better, becuase it understeers more than normal, but still ok to handle. Speeds are a little bit mroe realistic, and it has a dual solenoid boost controller (kinda), when in a race, press select and you turn your boost up about .5 bar (around 7.25 psi).

UPDATE: I am now 53% done w/ the game (the 2nd time through) and so far my 180SX OWNS ALL! Once I put 1242 miles on my car (yea, I got no life until i get a car) I swapped the motor out to a Turbo I6, dunno what it is exactly though, if it's a Nissan motor or what, but it has 590ish hp and 60ish kg/m of torque. I have a lil over 320 wins, and maybe 40 losses and 12 draws. I still havent bought a new car, and I got a bunch more unlocked, like the Skyline R34 & R33, Ford GT40 & Mustang Mach 1, Corvette Z51, Detomaso Pantera, Lotus Espirit (pronounced S-pree), and some others. I'll give another update @ 65%.

Oh man i remember just chcking the mall almost daily to check to see if they had it in yet... took em forever but they finally got it...then i started to play it really loved it I also got the 180SX, then eventually moved onto the FD.. which i'm still using I really love the game seein as how you can change the head lights on some of the cars and other stuff. Plus the price of being only 20 dollars oh man that was such a good deal.

Not sure of the percentage, but I have had the game now for a while and I must say that this one is easily 5 times better than the first. Better graphics, a more story based progression, and much more realistic car handling (the understeer can be adjusted under the suspension settings). I started with an RPS13 (Of course) and have since bought a WRX and am contemplating the purchase of another vehicle. I have completed each of the 3 cities one time now and can move freely between them...definitely a must have for car fanatics!!!

As for the new wheel, trust me, it's def. worth it. Especially if you ever feel like drifting in a game. the 900 degree rotation and force feedback are so much better than the old 270 degree rotation. My friend has it. As for TXR3, easily the 2nd best racing game I have ever played, next to GT3 of course. I still got my 180, plus about 1,000,000cp, and I still havent bought any new car at all, I love the 180 too much. I'm contemplating on buying OEM carbon fiber aero parts and paint them the stock color, so I can shave about 30kg's off the weight, so I'll be in the 1100's. I run the 400m (8 feet shy of a 1/4 mile, 1312ft=400m, 1320=1/4 mile) in 10.3, and if I change the gearing I think I can get in the 9's. I roast the tires off all the way through 1st and 2nd, and chirp 3rd. I can spin in 3rd if I use the boost up option thing (by pressing SELECT).

JUST REACHED 65%!

Well everyone, I just reached the 65% mark, still 34% mroe to go, because it's impossible to get that last 1% w/o GameShark or any other cheating devise, which I don't use. Here's my stats:
Day:126
Cash Flow: 2,248,410cp
Milage On Car/Total: 1,897mi./1897mi.
Wins-388
Losses-72
Draws-15
Win/Loss Percentage-84.3%
Tokyo: 280/309
Nagoya: 49/130 (Haven't really gone there yet)
Osaka: 63/160 (Just started going there)
Car: Nissan 180SX
Visual Mods: Matte Black paint, removal of stock wing. Took off the over fenders I put on earlier. Carbon Parts (painted body color): front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, mirrors, and hood.
Weight: 1227kg
Power: 581ps
Torque: 59 KG/M
Engine: 2,796cc Inline 6. I think it MIGHT be a stroked RB26, not sure on that one though.

Well, theres my 65% LIVE update. More on that @ 75-80%.

Days: 164
Cash Flow: 5,794,036cp
Milage On Car/Total: 2233mi./2233mi.
Wins-476
Losses-92
Draws-18
Win/Loss Percentage-83.8%
Tokyo: 280/309
Nagoya: 49/130 (Haven't really gone there yet)
Osaka: 155/160 (Just beat that part, still 5 wanderers I can't get though.
Car: Nissan 180SX
Visual Mods: Complete Carbon fiber body, every part. No paint on it either, because it adds about 30kg, which makes a big difference when you're running hot.
Weight: 1113kg (New carbon parts and took put Body Reinforcement back to normal instead of level 6 or 7)
Power: 581ps
Torque: 59 KG/M
