upcoming crx showdown

In about thirty days I'm racing a buddys crx with b16 swap with headers. All I have is Intake, Headers, Exhaust, Advanced Timing; Tune Up . What else can I do to ensure a win without spending more than $500? By the way i'm racing the 240 with a ka.

Lighten the hell out of your car. Take out the spare tire, all they equipment just for that day. You gotta be light to keep up with the lightweightness of the CRX. GL man, and tell us how it goes. You can also take out teh back seats for that day too, lol.

...drop those girls off at my house before you race too. I'll handle that extra weight while you're gone

lol check ur tire pressure as well im not sure what psi is best to set it at but they say if you let some pressure out you'll grip better, it should be a good race, crx's are light and if properly tuned can run strong, but the prob is with most people they dont have theirs tuned right and run like ***. let us know how it goes.

For some reason, I actually want a CRX and make it a complete sleeper, lol. Oh well, too poor and I have the Fastback already. It's a shame too see so many CRX's meet their doom with rice. Seriously, a lot of CRX owners need to go on a carb diet and lose that rice.

CRXs' have good high end....3rd gear is the quickest gear...thats the winning gear...try to get a jump on him w/ the torquey KA off the line... a friend dynoed his B16 (EG6), 106lbs of torque and approx. 140 WHP, w/ headers, exhaust, intake. It's gonna be a good race. And yes, lighten up the car!!! Keep us all posted. and good luck.

Oh BTW, $500=Nitrous....LoL

Oh yeah, and don't shift too late. KA nearing red-lines lose power sick, so shift at the right times. You might also wanna clean up your intake filter jsut to get it to breathe the most it can. Maybe a CF hood?

Take out your EGR Valve if you haven't already. You wont notice a difference but it will help. I've heard of guys actually taking off their filter when they have a race. I wouldn't suggest it though. And as everyone said....lighten up.

Do the following:

1.) Take out passenger seat, back seat, spare, jack, and tools.

2.) Make sure that when you race you only have about 2-3 Gal. in your gas tank.

3.) Buy a light weight hood (CF or Fiber Glass)

4.) Make sure you got some stickies on the back. (buy two extra stellies and some NT555R or BFG Drag radial (@ $400)

5.) If you have A/C you will want to take it out.

6.) Nos if you really think you need it.
