Where's the $ come from?

Ok one question. I see all you guys posting up how you've gone through this and that engine. Tested and RB20 vs an SR20 personally. Over reved this and that. Where's all the money come from to do all this? Do you guys work at garages? For tech part companies? Racers? Just wondering cause I'm really trying to get into this stuff a bit more, but can't figure out how it seems so easy for some of you. I know it's kinda a personal question, and I ain't asking for details. But any info would be appreciated.

well i haven't gone through any engines yet, lol but im starting my rb25 swap next week ... im a freelance web/graphic designer, work from home... what do you do?

I import motors and install them in cars...that's how I have testing knowledge between the different engines. I also have (or have had) cars powered by a RB25, RB20, SR20, and KA.

I was a supervisior at a movie theater, the job sucked. Saved up for about 2 years and thats how I got the money

I manage a body shop. I dont actually have any money at all, I took out a loan to get my project going. 3 kids, a wife and one job...but around April I will be ordering an RB26DETT clip and building that up. I wont have anything to put it in, but I will have one hell of a motor

Well damn. Must be a hell of a lot of fun to test those motors out once you install them too, NightXC. How does one get into that trade? And is it also location?

Me. I work for Sharper Image in Columbus, OH. I live about 3 miles from the sniper. Can't belive they haven't caught that punk yet. I used to do the graphic/web design thing for Reynolds and Reynolds the car form company. So basically it's a literally a labor of love and "eat alot of cheap food nights" in order to scrounge the money up for this stuff.

I priced around too, and most import companies have descent pricing considering the power aspect of the engines.

Also an off question. I saw a skyline for sale in canada. About how much would it be to legalize the car for America, and/or just take the engine?

I work full-time overnights at a retail store that rhymes with "Marget". and I don't have any bills to worry about besides my cell phone bill ($50/month) so my $500 every week goes straight to my car. I only bought my car in January and I'm already getting the RB20det shipped here and installed the weekend it arrives. I can't wait!!

I think Motorex is gone. I've heard the main guys from there started RB Motoring (rbmotoring.com). Pretty much the same and it will cost you an arm and a leg to get one

Skylines in Canada should be imported and legalized in US by MotoRex as well. If going south of the boarder can get a legalized GT-R, I don't see any reason Canadian will spend huge extra bucks legalizing one himself in Canada.

I work at a place called Kubota manufacturing of america (we build japanese tractor ) Saved till i had enought for a front clip, and went from there. Plus it helps not having much bills to pay for.
