89 240 fast back worth the price??
89 240 fast back worth the price??
Im planning to buy a 89 240sx hatch 5spd MT. The only body damage are the paint chipped off or faded off somewhat off the frontlip, and a small area of paint faded on the hood, but nothing a lil sanding and primering cant fix..also theres a small dent in the rear quarter panel near the taillight..
the car needs a clutch, which the owner will throw in a brand new one in box..and needs a new starter. the car has 210,000 miles, yet still running strong. I plan to do the traditional sr20 swap despite the legalities.
do you guys think this is worth 600-700 dollars?

hmm... where do u live? If u live in so Cal, price sounds very good! But worth the price? I need to see the pics! Well, in my own opionin, if the car still looks nice and clean in and out and everything is in good working order beside the failure part that u mention, u can think to take the car! But if u want to fix the body, clutch and starter in a shop be prepare to spend $300-400! With that age and high mileage, I will do a major service even its running strong becasue things will go wrong near the fulture! Basicly, total of the car is more than $1000 if u want to fix the problem! But if u can do it by yourself and save some bucks, I will say that is a reasonal price!
thanx for ur input man...well i can install the starter myself..as for the clutch and body, my friend owns a shop and is more then willing to give me a deal since ive always brought business to his shop. major servicing wouldnt be a problem either, as i prolly want to get the best out the k24e before the sr20 gets dropped in probably late within the year or so
