I've got a full stainless steel 3in exhaust off of a S13 Silvia/180SX that runs straight to the downpipe. Its built for a turbo motor as there is no real back pressure. Its a straight pipe design that splits off to a twin pipe exit. There is no resonator or muffler can on this at all.
