rb25det daily driver

This might be a crazy question, but even though the rb engines are not legal in the US, does anybody in here still drive theirs as a daily driver. And if so have u ever been hassled by the authorities?

shaban is joking lol.

dude

if you want to shell out the money... its up to you .. personally as long as your car has insurance on it and you obey the laws.. that's all i would care about

half of the things we do in this culture go against the law... so if that's your worry.. stop now.

and it's only illegal if you let them look under the hood and they know what it is... just write "VTEC" in magic marker on the head.

it perfectly legal (at least in VA) as long as you put a nissan motor into a nissan car youll pass inspection fine.

but if you drive it around in VA youll get pulled over constantly for things like too low, too loud, no front plates, and anything else they can find....

Most motorswaps, regardless of insanity, are pretty much under the radar if you can pass emissions/inspection if applicable. The only time you'd get messed with is if you're retarded and do dumb stuff on the street. In which case you deserve whatever comes to you.

Throw the RB25 in your car if you've got the cash, enjoy it for what it is, but if you get busted doing something stupid and they tack that on there, don't say we didn't warn you . . .

oh ok. Thanks for all the info guys! I was actually thinking of not putting the motor in cause it's not smog legal. I guess I'll do it now! I have another question if u guys don't mind? Before I get the swap done, can anybody tell me what parts I need exactly so as soon as the motors in, I can start driving it as a dd. To be more precise, after the motor and the transmission r in, wat else should be installed in order to say " ok, it's ready to go now".

you need a lot, the RB25 isn't a drop in motor.
you need this http://phase2motorsports.stores.yaho...bmomokitf.html
along with a few other parts and you'll be good to go. in total including engine it's going to end up costing you around $10-15k
