Another Noob

Well i've decided to join the 240 forums since i want to learn more and ask some questions when i have some. I am 17, currently drive a Civic hatchback, nothing special, just 02 Si wheels, intake, megan racing exhaust, and DIY black housing headlights. I got an offer from my uncle, that owns a shop, to see if i wanted to take a 89-93 240sx coupe. I was going too but then he didnt have a title for the car. He didnt get it from the guy who gave it to him. So i didnt feel like taking it.

Well i usually post on a forum, hondacivicforum.com, its a nice friendly forum, i hope this one is also. I would like to expand my knowledge on 240's, i hope you guys/gals here would help me out a bit.

I only know the basics or minimal stuff on these cars, if anybody would, show me some links to great information about these cars that a noob should know about.

I'm looking foward to purchase a 95-98 240sx in the near future. Sorry for the long introduction.

I am ready to learn.

welcome, if you really want an s14 instead id just go ahead and wait. with that s13 youll be spending a good amount of money maintaining it when you could be saving for the s14. after a while of browsing and what not youll learn the basics of nissan(terms, common problems, ect). lol nissan is a totally different world than honda land.

welcome bro. bring more 240 Noobs to the party.

im quite the honda guy myself. never owned one, but i have done every swap and conversion well except K series. I have a ton of EF/EG/EJ buddies with all kinds of B18s.

ps

EK's are equivalent to s14's lol hard to find sorta and still pricey.

Yea true, but the coupes and 4-door are easier to find than a hatch. I drove 3.5 hours to get my hatch. It was the closest one that i found at the time.

As far as my budget goes, as of now not alot. I figure that if i want a 95-98 240 it would cost upwards of 8-9 grand? for a stock one in good condition. Or am i wrong?

hmmm thats kinda to high... i would pay about 5 to 6k. at the most for a kouki. doesn't have to be in the best shape. but no accidents. ill do all the crashing.. but thats if i was into s14s which i am not.

You could get 95-96 Year Models at a fairly decent price, between 3-6k.
But its the 97-98 Years which are more expensive because they are usually much harder to obtain, especially in 5speed trans. It also depends on your area and how hard you look. But you should be able to get a real nice car with the budget you mentioned above.

yeah i was looking the other day online for 240s around my area, within 250 miles, and i couldnt find a 95-98. They were mostly the 89-94s. And i want a stock one, which will be a bit harder.
