Talking Another SR20det S14 build beginning!!! Any tips for newbie??

Alright, me any my friend just got a 95 240sx for $450 and we just started the build Sunday. I have a turbo Civic, and I love 240s and had to get in the RWD scene, so here I am .
First of all I dont know as much about Nissans as Hondas, but I learn by doing. I have done a few Honda engine swaps but this is my first Nissan. We have a Blacktop SR20DET full swap on the way, which should be here in about a week (from Rickys Auto Center in Miami???) got it for $2600 shipped, and we already have a top mount turbo manifold, Garret T3/T04E .60/.82, and an aftermarket IM too.
I have been searching for while but I'm not used to this forum yet (HondaTech is still my home) so I have a few quick questions--- What other MUST HAVE parts do you guys reccommend we get, the car is going to be used partly for drifting, after we take some lessons and learn the proper way to do it of course, and will be driven a lot by my friend cause his only other transportation is a GSX-R 750. We are in college so funds are low, we already spent most of it on the swap, and its not going to be a show car at all so can you guys reccomend some good CHEAP parts: suspension, roll cage, rims, engine mods..... Im gonna paint it flat black, with flat black rims and dark *** tint. Any tips or ideas are appreciated, unless your from HondaTech and you want to tell me to go kill myself cause I dont know as much as you
Ill have the pics up soon

Oh, I forgot-- we are shooting for about 350hp for now, cause we dont want to build the engine yet. What fuel program/ injector size do I need to look into. I have a SAFC sitting in my garage from my civic, would that work??? And im sure this has been covered plenty of times but what boost should I go for, not too high though cause I want to be safe? Thanks

350 is a bit on the high side especially for a daily driver, you guys will probably have to throw money at the car to get it running reliably + maintained at that point. Does the car have an LSD? if not, put that on the To Buy list... otherwise I'd just save some money for track time, tires, and the "rainy day fund" for when things start going wrong.

How do I get the headlights to turn back clear, they are so sick and yellow?? I found a 240sx SE in a junkyard and im gonna get the door and 5-lug conversion off of it. Who wants to buy the KA24?? It needs a new starter and I forgot to see how many miles are on it though.

I just figured 350 was a fair number cause I thought these motors could handle it with no problem, unlike my LS/Vtec-- I had to do pistons/rods, ignition, hondata... and all that just to get 300hp. What is a better number to shoot for-- 300hp?? I meant to ask about the "Weld-locd" welded differential, is that any good? Remember- Im new to RWD and its only $75???

hehe, with the Sr20det engine in there running a pretty much stock setup you should be around 200 hp at the wheels, throw in a few more goodies and you'll have plenty of power to work with. I'm personally shooting for something in the 250-300 hp range, but I'm not planning on getting there for at least another year or so. Yea the SR bottom end is supposed to be able to handle up to around 350 reliably (somebody correct me if i'm wrong), but depending on who you talk to the daily driveability of a 240 isn't that great at 350 hp and up. I don't know much about the welded differentials, but if you found a 240sx se at a junkyard, just grab the vlsd from that to get you started~ just check to make sure it really is an lsd and it should suit your purposes fine. As you said that you're new to RWD, I would really just save some money for tires and small stuff that may break while you're getting used to the car. The best investment you can make on your car is your driving skills... btw car looks good, but it needs to be cleaned even more than mine (which is saying a lot)

*edit* hehe, oh yeah~ welcome to the forums!

I already stripped out the whole interior, except for the dashboard, there is no rust anywhere. Im cleaning it and getting ready to paint the inside flat black. I also started to take off all the small parts of the engine, getting ready to take it out. I am doing the swap out in my driveway, right where its sitting in the pics, I hope I dont get fined by the owners association of my neighborhood.
Another Question: I am currently marking where all the plugs go on this wiring harness and keeping it in the car, is that what I am supposed to be doing? Or am I going to end up having to send it off and get it redone anyway?
Can someone just please post a good detailed writeup of an SR20 install, with wiring info, cause the search feature isnt working on here for me for some reason???

Did you buy a whole front clip? The sr20 will require an sr20 ECU. If you got a whole front clip just label the wires on the sr go.

It comes with the harness and ECU among other things, we'll see what condition its in when I get it I guess, it should be here mid next week.
