Ex 240 owner pining for the past... (PICS!!!)

Hey all! I currently own a 2003 Evo VIII, but used to own a 96 Emerald blue 240sx w/ SR20 and basic bolt ons. It was swapped by Finishline Motorsports in Atl. when they were still around (sorta glad they arent though...). I sorta got ripped off and didnt get the parts i ordered when i swapped the engine. The car ran great and made 240.9hp (dynapack) with a turboback exhaust, intake, front mount and 14psi. The car also had JIC FLT-A2 coilvers, JIC RUCA's, SS sway bars, and Skyline GTS-T diff w/ axles. I enterend in 1 drift event event and it was driven by Tony Schultz as a practice car. Like i said im wanting to get back into 240's, but do not plan on selling the Evo as i now have snow to deal with in Reno! Looking forward to talking to ya'll and hopefully learning some new stuff i didnt know and maybe even buying my next 240 from here . Now to the pics!!!

Appricate it! Im also on EvoM and find them a little closed minded sometimes and it seems that Evo owners can come off as a**holes and i dont really like that.

As far as drifting the Evo I thought about it, but i love AWD and doing the conversion every time i want to drift it would be a pain in the *** since i now live in apts. I know you can do it with AWD enabled (ask me how i know ) but i dont want to mess up the transfer case. I just replaced the clutch (1300 bucks!!!) and labor costs for the Evo are just too much to go through t-cases, but its supposed to snow here tonite and tomorrow, so if i have someone with me ill have some snow drifting pics

Ive checked out the pics section here and love ya'lls cars so far! Keep it up guys and hope to have another 240 to join ya'll soon!

Be careful what you say about EvoM, they own this website!

But yeah, sell the evo and get a 240 again. The snow is no excuse. By the way, i have never seen an S14 in that color (the pink one) before.

I know EvoM knows this site. Thats how i found it. Its not an insult to EvoM just some Evo owners on there .

Ive seriously thought about selling the Evo and building another 240. You know what kinda 240 i could build with the money from selling the Evo!?

As far as my girls car it was painted that color by the previous owner, but i believe that was a rare factory color in Japan as ive seen it in some of my Option/Drift Tengoku magazines.

Man your EVO looks clean, I wish I could daily one someday.
Just they cost alot of dough and most other EVO owners are *******s.
The are sick though. AWD in the Snow must be fun

Biggamehit-I know man. I have a diploma in automotive tech. and have worked on my fair share of cars. Ive seen some sick Civics and give them props. Especially if they've built it themselves with their own blood and money.

RuizXIII- Thanks bro! They really aren't that expensive anymore. You can buy an 03 Evo VIII with light mods and around 60k for 15-18k depending on condition. They also really arent that unreliable as many think coming from 1G and 2G Eclipses. As long as you don't drive it like an *** and realize that it is still a car along with regular oil changes and diff. fluid changes every 10-15k the car will last forever. I know many people with over 100k on their evos.

Not trying to convert just educating .

As far as snow goes it dropped like crazy last night and went out to take some pics (even with All-Season Kumho ASX's it was sorta scary for my 1st time driving in snow) and will post them shortly!

well, I suppose driving in the snow for your first time is an okay excuse. It's different if you havent grown up driving in it. But in the snow RWD rules all. (fun factor)

Yea i grew up in GA and my Dads a professor in Reno, so i came out here for cheap tuition (600 bucks a semester!) and bought the Evo a little over a year ago cause I had planned on coming out here and wanted to have it paid off.

We never had snow in GA (not much to matter), but we did get ice and i hit a patch on my way to class and spun 180 degrees. It was a two lane road and i was lucky i didnt hit the curb let alone another car. I ended up facing the car that was behind me . This was in the 240 BTW.
