Finally going to post

Well, after months of waiting, reading, and learning, I finally found a reason to post. I am looking for opinions on pricing for a 1998 240sx Se 5-spd. 45k miles. Dark green ext. with gray cloth interior and wood grain trim. The car appears to be in very good condition and it has some light modifications. ( intake, exhaust, 300zx brakes, optima batt., stereo, and wheels & tires) He wants $10k and no less than that. Is he asking too much? Thanks

P.S. I would post pics if i knew how. Anyone who wants to inform me of how to do this, it would be great. lol

Well, depending on the condition of the interior/exterior, and how it runs, then he might not be asking to much. I might try to get it dropped to 6-8k, depending on the actually condition of the car.

I don't know what area you're in and how prices are there but that's a bit steep. Not very many miles... see if you can talk him down.

I'm in the Pittsburgh area, and the car is in north west Ohio. A recent e-mail from the owner says that due to too much interest i shouldn't expect anything under $10k, especially b/c he invested about $8k into the car. Here's a quote from the ad, "Loaded 98 240sx SE in excellent condition with dealer optioned wood grain interior and 17 BBS RC alloy wheels. Professionally installed stealth stereo system with MB Quart, JL Audio, Xtant, Clarion ProAudio and power antenna. 300zx brakes, Apex N1 exhaust and Injen air intake. No engine, drive-train, body or suspension modifications." Book value is around $7800 i wouldnt have a problem giving him between $8k to $9k for it. He also doesn't have any of the stock pieces, he pitched them after 30kmiles of trouble free driving. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

That sounds right. I mean 43k miles is low for a 240. I asy, if you like it, and got the money, buy it. lol Run Carwax on the Vin # first.

price is about right for what's included with the car, those are decent BBS rims that aren't very cheap to begin with. Definitely go drive the car around and check it's condition, If car's in mint condition, everything works fine, and you won't have to replace anything on it for at least a year (e.g. tires) then go ahead and pick it up. I bought my S14 while I was still in school in Pitts... I picked it up in MD for only 3k but I've spent another 4 just fixing it to where it is now... if you want to keep looking around, there's a decent amount of 240's in Ohio or MD areas.
